Ralph has lived all of his life near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, England and has been a keen photographer since a small boy.
Ralph joined his local camera club, Burton on Trent Photographic Society, where he was advised to learn the craft of darkroom printing and has gone on from strength to strength. He is a prolific photographer and his first love is landscape photography, though Ralph does take photographs of a great variety of subject matter. Ralph was reluctant to move over to digital printing and capture, only making the change when infrared film was discontinued and fewer exhibitions were accepting slides.
Ralph now has a retrospective print lecture that goes from his first darkroom prints up his more recent work, and shows how he progressed. He has also produced a book “A Touch of Duckett Light” which is available on the Blurb website To see Ralph’s book on Blurb click on this link http://www.blurb.co.uk/books/4713226-a-touch-of-duckett-light
He particularly enjoys judging and looking at other people’s work. Ralph can be contacted by email: firstname.lastname@example.org If you are interested in having Ralph to judge or lecture at your Photographic Club then please use the form on the contact page.
Ralph has gained the highest standard of Masters in the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) accreditation and he is an EFIAP.
He is still an active club member and has been President of the Burton on Trent PS on two occasions and has run their members Annual exhibition for 20 years.
In 1995 he was elected onto the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF) organising council, in 2001 he became chairman of the MCPF’s annual club exhibition and still holds that post. Ralph served as President of the MCPF from 2012 to 2014.
